Stories from Mozambique, shared from Brisbane
Paulo Chemane is a Mozambican-born storyteller, animator and artist based in Brisbane, Australia.
Growing up in Mozambique, Paulo was surrounded by vibrant oral traditions, cultural tales, outdoor games and stories passed between generations.
Now a father to two daughters, Nyla and Zindzi, Paulo is driven by a desire to preserve that heritage and ensure the stories that shaped him are not forgotten.
With a bachelor’s degree in animation and an advanced diploma in music production from JMC Academy, Paulo combines storytelling, illustration and visual media to create immersive experiences for children and families.
Through every book and artwork, he invites readers to discover the joy, courage and community found within Mozambique’s stories.
